The Waste Reduction Awards Program provides public recognition to California businesses that have made outstanding efforts to reduce and divert nonhazardous waste from landfills. Applicants do not compete by type or size of business, but are judged individually based on an established set of criteria. Green Business Program

The Contra Costa Green Business Program currently recognizes auto repair shops for their efforts to reduce pollution, conserve resources and comply with environmental regulations, and plan to include other types of businesses in 2004.
