Do's and Don'ts
for Curbside Recycling

On March 1, 2005, Valley Waste Management, your recycling collection company, removed the divider from your burgundy/brown recycling cart and replaced the lid to allow for "commingled" (single-stream) recycling.  You can now place paper products and containers together making recycling more convenient than ever.
 

So, you may be wondering: how do these materials get separated again for recycling?  Check out the CCCSWA's Spring 2005 Diversions newsletter for how this is accomplished. 

Look for the new lid with the label below:

 

Don’t - put these items in your recycling cart. Put them in your garbage cart or call (800) 750-4096 for other recycling options:

  • Plastic bags or plastic film wrap

  • Any styrofoam, including packaging materials

  • Plastic Diapers

  • Tissues, napkins, Q-tips

  • Paper towels, plates, cups
