Mini-Grant Program
2003 Recipients
The following received CCCSWA Mini-grants in 2003 to help fund innovative projects that will increase individual and community involvement in waste prevention efforts, decrease the amount of waste sent to landfills, and encourage the development, marketing and use of recycled products. Congratulations!
- San Ramon Valley High School
was awarded $2,000
to implement a worm composting system to divert food scraps from the school's
waste stream and provide fertilizer for their garden.

Hospice of Contra
Costa Foundation
received $10,000 for advertising activities in
conjunction with its on-call reusable items collection.

Central Contra Costa
Transit Authority
was
awarded $14,250 for fifteen recycled-content benches at popular bus stop
locations within the CCCSWA service area.
- East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse
was awarded $6,000
for up to twelve additional Madam Ovary Trash Transformation performances at
CCCSWA service area community events promoting Reuse and Cleanup Days.

Green
Resource Center
received $10,000 to expand its "Ask-an-Expert" program to the CCCSWA service
area on green building practices and recycled-content building products.

Walnut Creek Open Space Foundation
was awarded $6,886 for ten recycled-content benches along the Shell Ridge Open
Space trail.
