Books for the Barrios is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening elementary school education in the Philippines so that all children – even the most disadvantaged – can receive a great education. Books for the Barrios takes donations of books, computers, school supplies, games and more.

Composting in Schools
Cornell Composting provides access to a variety of composting educational materials and programs developed at Cornell University. The reader will learn in detail the science and engineering of composting, composting in schools, and composting resource materials. This is an educational site on the weird and unusual, along with a composting quiz and glossary. 

Department Of Conservation (DOC)
The Department of Conservation offers grants and other funding programs to further California's goals toward beverage container recycling, agricultural land conservation and watershed restoration and management.

EarthCapades
Environmental "Edutainment" Programs for Schools - a fun and exciting way to learn about the Four R's. 
EarthCapades presents age appropriate versions of all performances for K-3, 3-5, and Middle School audiences.

EarthTeam
Earth Team is an environmental network composed of and designed for Bay Area high school leaders, classes and clubs.  EarthTeam's mission is to create a new generation of environmental leaders by introducing into the classroom and the community environmental experiences that are so active and engaging that they inspire dedication to a healthy environment.

EarthTeam Videos
The 2006 "Our School Our Planet" video project is now showing on TV stations around the East Bay. You can watch the shows created by teens from 14 local schools.

East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse
The East Bay Depot for Creative ReUse is a nonprofit corporation devoted to getting people to reuse materials. Since the early '80s, the Depot has been promoting solid waste diversion and resource conservation by collecting and redistributing reusable materials for education, arts & crafts, and a wide variety of other creative projects.

Provides grants, training, student resources and recognition programs that promote personal responsibility in caring for the environment.

Generation Green
Classes cover a variety of topics on science, nature and the environment. These include recycling, composting, water & air pollution, native plants & animals, and much more! A different issue is covered in each session. Every topic is accompanied by a hands-on craft activity.

Go Green Initiative
The Go Green Initiative is a grassroots environmental program that unites parents, teachers and students to create a culture of conservation on campus. The program involves students at every level and takes a comprehensive approach to help schools evaluate every aspect of their environmental impact.

The Imagination Factory’s Trash Matcher
A comprehensive list of art projects for the classroom using reuse materials.

Junkology
Dr. Recycle's reuse workshops are filled with entertaining and environmentally friendly projects. Age-appropriate for
pre school to grade 12.

Kids Gardening
Paper investigation including, papermaking instructions, curriculum and resources.

Laptop Lunches - Fun, practical food containers and user guides that promote better nutrition and waste reduction.

Public Broadcast Station American Field Guide
A 6-8 grade lesson on Solid Waste Management.

Resource Area for Teachers (RAFT) 
Everyday items like computers, office supplies, and manufacturing by-products are donated to RAFT by over 1,000 local businesses and transformed into hands-on learning experiences. Items are available to teachers at a minimum cost.

Waste Free Lunches
Provides information necessary to participate in or start a waste-free lunch program at school.

Waste Prevention World
Waste prevention is resource efficiency by producing less waste and reducing the materials one needs. The Waste Prevention Information Exchange has a unique collection of over 1,000 articles, brochures, reports, videos, posters, and other materials that focus on waste prevention.

World Centric
World Centric is non-profit organization working to raise awareness of compostable & biodegradable packaging products made from readily renewable resources like sugarcane and corn & potato starches for use in schools.

ZunZun
ZunZun's performances are perfect for schools - presentations highlight concepts about recycling, composting and pollution.
